What do you think of me?

“What do you think of me?” was recently asked of me. It was a valid question. Every day that question gets silently shouted whether it’s from a middle school classroom or a corporate boardroom or perhaps the silent longings of someone’s spouse. Humanity holds us accountable to a demanding list of expectations all so we can be accepted by those around us. We desperately want to be noticed; to fit in as long as our differences blend with the ones about us.

Let me challenge you that just for today let’s put aside the notion that we are defined by our achievements, skills, work or any other standard that we are endeavoring to master on our daily agenda. At the very essence of our efforts to earn a mark in another’s book, lies a unique soul who is beautifully and wonderfully made by the very One who ordered every aspect of our created world past and present.  Just for today, please realize that today’s challenges, obstacles and often hidden blessings are there waiting for our personal validation. There is no one else who sees the world exactly like we do. Go today with grace and peace and make your mark!
